History of Spanish League

The RFEF started on 1913 to be the organizor of the Spanish League and National teams that they've been created around 1913.

The Spanish League started 10 years after the RFEF start. Before the League, Oldest Spanish football teams (as Barça, Real Madrid, Atlelico Madrid...) made a trophy called "Funfair cup"(Copa de Feria), all these games were friendly with a prize for the winner.

During the Spanish Civil War and WWII There wasn't Spanish league. After these events the league started with more teams reaching 20-40 total teams.

After around 30 years there was a massive creation of Teams in Spain and RFEF created the 2nd and 2nd B (and 4 different groups of 22 teams) divissions to the Spanish league for not too powerful teams. The clear dominator of this years was Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

10 years later, RFEF created 3 of the 7 Actual 2nd B groups and the 3rd Divission by regions (Castilla & Leon, Madrid, Cataluña, etc). In this times started the transfer market.
Some players as Di Stefano, Cruyff, Puskas, Amancio... were brilliantly in a past.

In 1994-1995 Season, RFEF decided to give 3 points to the match winner and not 2 as before. and new pearls started to appear as Mijatovic, Suker or Djalminha.

From 1995 to our times lots of happy events happened as the Champions League Spanish winners (R.Madrid and Barça) , the Atletico Madrid went to 2nd Div. and back up, the 30th league of R. Madrid, UEFA champions, International Cup (Champions League Winner + Libertadores Cup winners)...
